Ben Brown Webinar

Ohio Soy Tomorrow will host a free webinar addressing the current uncertainty in U.S. ag markets on February 7 at 11 a.m. EST. The presentation will feature Ben Brown, program manager for the farm management program in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics at The Ohio State University.

During the session, Brown will address the short- and long-term implications of the trade situation, provide a high-level overview of the new farm bill, review grain marketing for 2018/2019 and address some of the most common questions about soybean trade. Webinar participants will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions following Brown’s presentation. To access the live presentation, registration is required but open to anyone interested.

A native of Missouri, Brown grew up on a diversified row crop and cattle operation. He received undergraduate degrees from Kansas State University in 2015 in Agricultural Economics and Agronomy. He earned a master’s in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a graduate assistant to the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute. His area of focus was on U.S. farm policy with specific work on the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage Commodity Programs in the Agricultural Act of 2014. Today, Ben works in the areas of commodity marketing, agricultural policy, farm financial health, cropping system aids, trade impacts and price analysis.

Aaron Wilson Webinar

Aaron B. Wilson is an Atmospheric Scientist at The Ohio State University (OSU), holding a joint appointment as a Senior Research Associate at the Byrd Polar & Climate Research Center (BPCRC) and climate specialist with OSU Extension-the outreach arm of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. He is also a contributing member to the State Climate Office of Ohio ( Aaron encourages everyone across the rural to urban gradient to think about “your climate change” and how changing weather extremes are impacting you where you live.
