Ohio Soybean Association Announces New $1,000 Scholarship

October 25, 2021 Ohio Soybean Association

The Ohio Soybean Association (OSA) is excited to offer one $1,000 scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Acting as the membership and policy arm for Ohio soybean farmers, OSA decided to create a scholarship program to support students interested in advocating for the future of soybeans. The OSA board of trustees and staff members will choose one individual that exemplifies a passion for the soybean industry to receive a $1,000 scholarship.

All majors are eligible, but applicant must show a strong interest in the soybean industry and agricultural advocacy. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student at a college, university or technical school and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must also be immediate family (child or grandchild) of a current OSA member OR a Student or Young Adult Member (SYA) of the Ohio Soybean Association (SYA membership is free).

“We decided that one of the best ways to ensure the future of the soybean industry is to support those that will be entering it in the next couple of years,” says Ryan Rhoades, OSA President and Delaware County famer.

Those interested should apply no later than Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:59 pm EST by following this link. The application asks for at least two letters of recommendation, a personal essay, academic information, community involvement and awards and honors.
